These are the absolute best after-market Lever Side Springs for Uberti Toggle Link rifles. A tiny bit of fitting and they make a huge difference in the action and best of all, I DON'T have to grind and fit OEM springs. Most Excellent

Well worth the price. It really made a difference in my Uberti 1873 rifle.

I bought these for a Uberti '73 new model short rifle because they appeared to be more flexible than the rigid steel stock springs. After installing, I found it was easier to fine tune the tension than with the stock springs. I took off a star because I had to do some fitting that was not specified in the description. The mounting lugs are much thicker than those on the stock springs, and interfere with (at least on my gun) the loading gate unless screwed all the way down, which puts way too much tension on the lifting arm. I had to grind off half a millimeter to get the gate to clear. I don't see any reason why these could not have the same thickness as the originals, or at least a little thinner so the loading gate works without extra fitting.

Every gun’s tolerances are a tad different. Our springs are designed to be screwed down firm and no lightening is needed. This allows for a positive uread morepward locking position of the carrier. As you mentioned when loosening them some the block interfered with the lifter arm. In this case… yes this can happen. Glad you figured it out and thank you for the review and business. I’m sure you will get many years of enjoyment out of them.

Got the Slix springs in the mail the other day, shipping was 3 days , I took my '73 apart and followed the directions
that came in the package, they replaced the other aftermarket springs that were getting weak. Made a marked improvement in the way the rifle worked. I would recommend these, easy to install.

These springs made a great improvement in my Uberti 1866 rifle. They are telling the truth when they say they may require fitting. You MIGHT get lucky and they drop right it in. I wasn't so lucky. I got one side fitted without too much trouble but the other side proved too difficult so I brought it to my friendly gunsmith who fitted it with no trouble at reasonable cost. DEFINITELY worth the time, trouble and cost.
