Developed by TK4B Enterprises, makers of SliXprings and SliXpins, the SliXpring-Main is designed to complement an already properly tuned and short-stroked Winchester-style 1873 rifle or carbine.
The initial cocking action may feel slightly more positive or brisk than a conventional leaf spring. However, the system operates more smoothly throughout the complete hammer cycle while providing faster, more dependable hammer travel.
Two Axles Included
The kit includes two axle sizes so the installer can adjust the system for the shooter’s preferred balance of speed, primer ignition, and lever feel.

Standard axle: Provides the fastest possible lock time and most positive primer detonation while maintaining a smooth action cycle

Smaller-diameter axle: Provides noticeably faster lock time with a slightly lighter, smoother lever-cycle feel
Fitment Information
Differences in bolts, hammers, lower tangs, action frames, machining tolerances, and tuning methods prevent every rifle from having identical dimensions. The kit is therefore manufactured so a qualified installer or tuner can fit and align it for optimum operation with minimal alteration.
Important fitment notice: The kit will not fit earlier square-bridge lower tangs or some Border Rifle tangs without modification to the tang.
Installation Requirements
The SliXpring-Main is not a one-size-fits-all, drop-in replacement. Individual fitting may be required because of variations in rifle dimensions and previous action work.
Installation should be performed by someone familiar with tuning the Uberti 1873 action. If you are unsure how the system should be fitted or adjusted, please contact a qualified gunsmith. Our practice installations have typically taken approximately one hour.
