I have installed five of these spring kits. I have noticed that the wire seems to ger thinner on each kit I buy. This latest kit the spring wire fell out of the frame, and after installing I had many light primer hits. I am still working on this kit, so I don't have a final opinion. The earlier kits worked fine and are still working after years of heavy use.

Nothing has changed. We are still using the same wire gauge. It could be that the holes in the yoke are a tad larger and that is why the spring falls out. We use to super glue the spring in the yoke but that took too much time so we stopped doing that but that wouldn’t make any difference in performance. Make sure you are using one of the axles that come with the kit. Without the axle you will shorten the life of the spring and also get light primer hits. Too strong of a firing pin spring can also cause light primer hits or hammer drag. And of course it could be the spring material is the problem on a select few but we haven’t had any complaints. We are happy to replace the spring.
