40 Caliber 140 Grain FP Polymer Qty 1000

I'm loading these for 10mm IDPA target rounds. Loading with 4.4gr of Vihtavouri N310 generates a 133 power factor out of a 4.5 in barrel. Nice light load for competition. Should do about the same in 40 too. I prefer the truncated cone profile of this bullet as it seems to feed better than the sort of truncated round nose I've seen elsewhere. The only gocha is you have to watch your overall length for 10mm. The case rim needs to set very close to the cone angle where the bullet starts to tapper but not go over it. If you load it a few mm too long the rounds can bind up in the magazine and cause feeding issues. So be sure to check your overall cartridge length for spec.

I have been waiting to review these bullets until I had shot them. I bought 145 gr. Polymer coated 40 cal. from another vendor. I spent at least an hour cleaning their lead out of my barrel before trying these. There was still a little left, oh well. They shoot good, are accurate. I shot 300 in a match Saturday. Worked great. Cleaning the barrel was a breeze, no build up of any kind. I will definitely buy more.

I'm giving them 3 stars only because they happen to be the first .40 caliber projectiles that I've used in 20+ years of reloading for the caliber that jams -- however -- they are also much more pointed (more like a rifle cartridge) than any other projectile I've ever reloaded. So I'm pretty sure going from normal hollow- or flat-point profiles to a much taller profile is causing the bullet to be seated deeper in the casing making the shoulder of the casing much more pronouced and catching on the feed ramp. I'll have to adjust the die to see if that cures it, but I'm relatively sure it will. Jamming aside, groupings were very nice at combat distances.

First time buyer...I'm in love with these bullets. they don't fowl the barrel. Very little clean up. Ive tryed other brands and these will be my go to bullets.

I have ordered Poly's from others to see what's offered. From insufficient coating to terrible packaging it's a mess out there.
